TO MOUNTAIN 101!

WMHW-FM’s W266BU -- Mountain 101 --- is a student-run radio station, operating from Central Michigan University’s Moore Hall, alongside sister station Modern Rock 91.5. Mountain 101 is owned by Central Michigan University and is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission as a noncommercial translator station at 101.1 MHz to carry WMHW-FM’s HD-2 signal. The station is a service of CMU’s School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and functions as the primary radio laboratory for its students.
“The Summit of Sound” is formatted as a “AAA” station, which stands for “Adult Album Alternative.” As a “Triple A” station, Mountain 101 provides its regional and digital audiences with an eclectic blend of everything from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Brandon Flowers, to bands like Life Size Ghost and Beck.
