Executive Staff Positions Include:
WMHW-FM BUSINESS GRANTS DIRECTOR (CURRENTLY VACANT)
The only paid student staff role at WMHW! In this role, you are in charge of securing funding for our station’s operating costs. You will be trained to pitch our station’s role in the community to local businesses to sell underwriting - a type of financial sponsorship - to local businesses in Mount Pleasant. These underwriting contracts will be turned into sponsorship credits that air during our regular programming. Gain real-world sales experience and earn 20% commission on all contracts finalized!
Underwriting is our form of advertising and while it is similar to a commercial, it's important to know the difference. Underwriting is purely informational and not flashy like a commercial would be. It cannot mention prices, discounts, or the word free. It also cannot say any
calls to action (come on down!) or subjective statements (__ is the best in town!).
WMHW-FM NEWS DIRECTOR (CURRENTLY VACANT)
In this role, you will be in charge of “News Minutes,” a weekly News show broadcasted live on 91.5 The Mountain. You will source, write, and read stories on-air from the local, state, and regional community, and are able to recruit a News Staff to help prepare and share stories to our community.
